Mission, Vision, Values

My time as a museum professional has given me the opportunity to explore what I value in museums, and what I strive to bring to museums in my future career. Here are some of the key components to who I am as a museum professional.

Mission

My mission is to make museums into spaces where stories can be told and heard, where education connects the objects to the audiences. I hope to bridge the gap between the objects in collections and the audiences that interact with them through interpretation and collections.

Vision

I hope to use my skills as a preserver and an interpreter to increase accessibility of collections for audiences and allow museum guests to connect with the objects on display through their own interests and personal stories.

Values

Diversity: I strive to bring educational opportunities featuring a wide range of voices to a wide range of listeners

Accessibility: I will ensure that all types of learners and explorers can experience the museums I am passionate about

Learning: I will utilize multiple strategies to ensure that visitors are engaged and excited so that they can learn new things in ways that excite them

Storytelling: I believe that through telling stories, voices can be elevated and visitors can be engaged in all aspects of museum work
