Gallery Interpreter - Humanities

  • Create and facilitate unique formal programs to teach specific, gallery-related topics to large audiences

  • Track and record exhibit program data, including attendance and family learning behaviors that are used to determine the success of the programs

  • Engage in object-based, informal interactions with children and their families to deepen understanding of exhibit topics and facilitate informal learning

  • As a Tier II Interpreter, reviewed and rewrote a script for informal interactions concerning foster families

  • Recognized as an Employee of the Month nominee for responding to a safety concern with guest-centric care

Rhythm! Discovery Center

Collections Intern 

  • Catalogued and rehoused over 150 percussion-based objects via description writing, assigning accession numbers, and creating custom boxes

  • Utilized the PastPerfect database to catalogue objects and update information about the collection

  • Processed paperwork for ten loans, twenty collections donations, and fifteen archive donations

  • Participated in set-up for a yearly percussion convention held by the Percussive Arts Society 

  • Salvaged exhibit objects, labels, and education collection pieces after an unexpected flood in the museum

  • Currently assisting the museum in a large-scale collections relocation

Course Migration Assistant

  • Oversaw the migration of more than 3,000 university course websites from Blackboard to Brightspace

  • Assisted with the creation of course shells in the Brightspace software for new course offerings

  • Utilized online databases to organize course websites and track migrated courses alongside teammates (Microsoft Excel, IT ticketing software)

Family Programs Intern

  • Wrote and facilitated four lessons and two projects for the museum’s StarPoint summer camp to teach to more than 100 children

  • Interviewed three other department leads to learn about the workings of a non-profit organization and museum

  • Engaged in other activities/projects after and before summer camp such as preparing outreach projects, developing activities for the camp, and collecting data from the camp
